Sure are!
There's a lot of stuff to do when you're getting rid of everything and quitting your jobs and saying goodbye to your friends and family for a while. But it's pretty exciting to have the exit date coming up shortly. It's a pretty big life changing event (quitting your job and leaving the country in which you've lived your whole life) and there are a lot of things to consider, but we are excited.
There's a lot of work that goes into preparing for travel outside the U.S. for several months. We purchased Travel Insurance, met with Dr. Trinh (who is from outside Philadelphia) at the Polyclinic Travel Center to get vaccinations and pick up antibiotics, helped our landlord (and great friend) show our apartment, and so on. We've read a lot of travel blogs, forums and library books to figure out where we might want to go. We've visited REI a couple times over the past year to evaluate what gear we plan to take with us. Now we're working on narrowing down what exactly goes on the plane with us.
Making lists helps. Doing yoga in the morning also helps. We're pretty fortunate to be able to do what we're planning to do. We've been planning the trip for a couple years so we've been thinking about it off and on for a while.
For now, it's a lot about getting rid of stuff.
